May 20 - 22
After a semi-turbulant flight from Charlotte to LA we were more than ready to land at LAX. A very long lay-over and some shuffling on the plane finally found us own our way to NZ. A 12 hour plane ride punctuated by crowded seats and sporatic sleeping finally landed us in Auckland around 5:10 am local time on the 22nd. As a rainy day we did pretty well as we shopped and viewed Auckland on our own time. Some of us even found our favorite Burger King.

May 23
We went to two different schools in the morning. They were definitely eye openers and were definitely not the same as American schools. We were able to tour Auckland at leisure. Some of us went mountain biking while others went to view a volcano in Devenport. It was a wonderful time and an experience none of us will forget.

May 24
The day started at 7 when we headed to the train station. Our train left at 8:30 for an 11 hour ride that was anything but eventful. It was worth it because of the extrodinary scenery that we saw along the way. The landscape is awesome. We arrived at the hostel and it wasn't exactly what all of us expected. It will definitely be the experince of a lifetime. As Tish would say "We are living the Road Rules Experience."
